New Features in Beilabs

So over the holidays I have been improving this site behind the scenes.  Some new scripts over the holiday period have now introduced a brand spanking cool twitter interface.  I'm ripping straight from the twitter.com website updates which I am creating through gtalk.  This should is also propagating through my facebook account.  I'll be posting the code soon if anyone is interested.

Behind the scenes I have also introduced a new WYSIWYG editor. The old editor did not validate xhtml properely which really quite annoyed me.  The new editor is called WYM and hopefully should validate quite well.  Clicking the button below should let you know if it validates or not.

Eventually I'll be introducing a new bug tracking system which will be introduced to all of my projects.  I am currently using codetrack and merging its data files with this website will be my next rails project.

Why do I love rails?  Well its pretty simple to do anything in.  I didn't spend long introducing any of those features.  Now if only they could improve their documentation and my employers might no longer be scared with using it as a possible enterprise ERP solution.

Just to let everyone know that I have created a nice new script which will take a huge load off of the server.  Before today everytime the server received a request for the rss xml file it was automatically generated by the application, this could lead to hundreds of requests and a large load.  But thanks to some spare time I now have it creating a nice and small xml file at specific intervals with a ruby cron job script (I love script/runner)

Anyhow, if all the above is just double dutch to you then just listen to this.  If you read this blog, then please update your RSS feeds to http://www.beilabs.com/beilabs.xml

Wow, two blog posts in one day.  I'm on a roll, usually on this blog I leave such gems for every 6 months.  I'm aiming to update this blog at least once a week from now on, maybe even more.  Ain't ye the lucky ones!
